The Armorial Online is a subscription based service, meaning that casual visitors can make limited use of the searching capabilities while subscribers have access to all search features.

Visitors can:

• Search in names only.
  
  
• Search for whole words and exact matches only.

• Search both names and blazons.
  
  
• Use the armories as ordinaries to find what name matches a particular blazon, or whether a particular blazon exist the armories.
  
  
• Tell the search engine to exclude certain words to narrow down their search.
  
  
• Use a wildcard to fill in blanks, which is extremely helpful with uncertain or multiple ways of spelling a name, or catching variations of terms used in blazons.
  
  
• Use quotation marks to construct phrases to search for.
  
  
• Use limited support for English, German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian. About 435 heraldic terms are converted to French on-the-fly when searching the Armorial Général.
  
  
• Access the list of abbreviations used in the Armorial Général and their expanded forms and meanings.
  
  
• Access any future subscriber services added to Blazon Search.

Individual Subscribers use a UserID and Password to log into the site and unlock its restrictions. Site Accounts are activated through a primary IP address, so that subscribers can make Blazon Search instantly available to dozens of users on multiple computers (in computer labs, clubs, or libraries, for instance). Users of Site Accounts will not need to login. Additional IP addresses for the same account are available for a $20 setup fee per IP address.

We take our payments in various currencies securely through PayPal (all major credit cards). A PayPal account is not required for these secure transactions.
